Neon Jungle Debuts New Single 'Braveheart'
It's safe to say that the Victoria Secret Fashion Show is a literal dream come true for any guy watching...While this year's show played host to a variety of referential moments (My mouth is still gaping wide after watching the highlights), Neon Jungle's performance of their hit single 'Trouble' had me somewhat floored. While I was watching the performance I kept thinking to myself as to why I never heard of the four-piece British girl group before. The song itself was absolutely fire and is unlike a lot of the mainstream pop music that I am accustomed to hearing on the radio...With that in mind I decided to do some digging and figure out who these lovely ladies are.
Comprised of Amira McCarthy, Jess Plummer, Shereen Cutkelvin, and Asami Zdrenka, Neon Jungle entered the scene earlier this year, debuting their single 'Trouble' as the lead off their soon to be studio album (The release is set for sometime in 2014). Experimentally speaking, their sound is quite unique from the trend of bringing new age disco and country cross overs to the pop market...It's basically as diverse as their look. In what was probably the best promotion decision known to man, the girls released their follow up single 'Braveheart' literally moments after their performance which has sent an influx of fans (Including myself) to their channel to check out what these girls are all about. As a single, 'Braveheart' has elements of 90's throwback electro dance amidst a really aggressive backbeat. I seriously hope producers pick up on this track and decide to include variations of it in their upcoming sets because it really lends itself well to the genre of electronic music...I'm craving an RL Grime or Lazer remix. The video, like the track itself, is unapologetic, quick paced, and has the group showing off their unique sense of style.
I am actually really excited to see what comes as a result of their album release in the next year...These ladies are ones to watch.
