JFL's Midnight Surprise Promises To Blow Your Mind

Who's going to be the host for your show?

On Our Radar

If you've been perusing the schedule for this year’s Just For Laughs festival and can’t decide who to go see, we at IX Daily strongly suggest taking a chance and attending the Midnight Surprise show, which plays virtually every night at Theatre Ste. Catherine until next Saturday, July 26th.

If you like surprises, mystery, and seeing something totally original, then this show is for you. Each night is a different host, different comedians, and a completely different show from the night before. Audience members won’t know who’s playing until the comedian is already on the stage. You won’t know who’s hosting until the doors close and you’re already in your seats. Although it might sounds a bit nerve wracking to pay for a show and not know who’s playing, it’s definitely worth it. While you run the risk of seeing a lineup that you may not have chosen otherwise, you also run the risk of catching comedy gold in an intimate venue.

During the show I attended stars like Judy Gold, Ryan Hamilton, Maz Jobrani, and Godfrey graced the stage for a night that put my abs through the workout of a lifetime. I've never laughed so hard in my entire life. While I can’t promise every show will be as funny as the one I attended, if that performance was any indication of what’s to come then attendees of the Midnight Surprise are definitely in for a treat.
