Have you ever just been aimlessly scrolling tumblr looking for some sort of eye catching photo or inspirational quote? Of course you have, we all do it.  The other day I "tumbled" upon some some very cool artworks by the lovely Sirin Thada on her tumblr page that blew me away. I found her work to be beautiful, quirky, and amazingly honest. We sat down with the New York based artist/designer to talk art, inspiration and Lena Dunham

What is the inspiration behind your art?

I'm inspired by the everyday -- everyday thoughts, feelings, all the boring insignificant crap we go through. I like to find the magic in the mundane.

How has Girls HBO inspired your art/artistic process?

I think Lena Dunham is awesome. Girls is a fantastic show, for being cool, clever, and just freaking REAL -- so it was an honor to collaborate and do some drawings for their Tumblr. It's a show that makes you cringe, sigh, laugh, it makes you question your reactions -- something I always aspire to achieve in my own work.

What is your dream project?

Every project I take on is a dream come true, and I'm grateful for all the inspiring people I've been able to cross paths with along the way. I've been lucky to do a bunch of different things -- from book covers, to album artwork for talented musician friends, fashion work, my own personal projects... Every opportunity is a new adventure, and I love it.

How did you get into the design aspect of your work?

I have lots of secrets. One of them is that my Thai name means "little chick." Another is that I used to be a fashion designer. So yes, I do have a healthy appreciation for visual aesthetics, and it's just as important to me as the conceptual element!

Professionally, what is your ultimate goal?
Just to keep making art, and hopefully make people smile (or snort) along the way.

It's a rare occasion to stand-out as a progressive rock band, to me at least, and Vesper Sails achieved just that.
