Montreal has some hidden talents, and they've been cooking up a storm. You're probably unfamiliar with Ghost Club Records, or probably heard about it but not too sure what it is.
That's because you've been sleeping and we're here to wake you the fuck up.
Founded by Max Gendron (also known as Prince Club), alongside Sebastian Navarro, Ghost Club Records acts as a talent-hub for musicians, producers and artists that you are about to discover real quick. First founded as a production company, Ghost Club Records has now reincarnated into a record label, bringing together a slew of talents from all over the globe which were developped almost from scratch into these high quality musical acts that are about to take over the scene like wildfire.
This summer, you'll get the chance to dwelve into the world of these artists, and we want to make things easy for you by introducing some of their roster right here, right now.
Straight outta Grove Cult, Vinny Black was reborn from the ashes. Currently venturing as a solo artist, he is exploring different musical avenues of rap and hip hop. His music transcends the darkness of his alterego, which is reflected through his love for metal and his rebellious attitude. His latest EP is one of the firsts to be released this spring, and here we have his single "EGOS" as a preview of what's to come:
We first introduced Aaricia to the scene by premiering her own rendition of Travis Scott's track "Drugs You Should Try" and people went nuts over it. She's taken her craft to a whole other level, gearing up the release of her next single "The Ruler" off her 7-track EP, accompanied by visuals for it. We can't wait for what's to come, listen to a lil preview right here:
Saint Alpha writes music that reflects Montreal’s contrasted reality. He celebrates his love for music with hip hop, combining druglaced vocal melodies and egodriven raps over ghostly instrumentals. Sometimes boastful, other times remorseful, there is a consistent boldness in all his songs that everyone can relate to. Listen to a preview of his single "Bleach" off the upcoming chopped&skrewed version of his mixtape:
Groovy rhythms, percussions, amazing textures & samples, that’s how Jaymie Silk spreads his unique & energetic sound. Based in Montreal and influenced by the glamour of the 80s and the audacity of the Ballroom scene, Jaymie Silk brings us in a sexy place where there is no boundaries, no taboo for love and parties. Listen to his latest releases, right off the press, two singles titled "Sweetest Sin" and "This Where We From" which will definitely give you a taste for wanting more:
Rico Watts (noun) is defined by a distortion of a reminiscent lifestyle we all crave for. His vocals are sensual, teasing, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. No matter the beat he seems to jump onto, Rico Watts can capture the setting and make it his own. Driven by his own life experiences, this songwriter speaks his stories through his music. You can listen to a preview of his single "Lay Me Down" off his upcoming mixtape right here:
In an abandoned nuclear reactor, hidden deep in their very ownlair, two scientists, two brothers, are resisting. They call themselves AFTERLIFE and they make feel-good music with a mysterious front. These two are ones to watch out for as they will be releasing a couple of singles this summer to gear up for their full-length album in the fall. Listen to a preview of "Close Encounters" right here, you'll dig this:
With a background in psychology, KALLITECHNIS has been using art as her own personal therapy since childhood. Be it with classical ballet, piano, drawing, or singing, she does it all, and intends to continue experimenting with other mediums. The conscientious artist advocates self-expression and selfunderstanding, and emphasizes the power of staying true to one's soul. Listen to a preview of her single "Colo(u)rs" right here:
LUST is defined by a deep desire for something unhealthy and symbolizes the effort, research and sacrifices behind his musical entity. This international act makes hard-hitting music that belongs in clubs and afterhours. Taking you through the night, up until the sun rises, take a peek at a preview of his track "Until We Collapse" right here:
Not a strangers to us, Grandbuda has been on our radar for a couple of years now. He has recently been added to the Ghost Club Records roster, with a brand new album in the works, which will be played live for the first time this summer at Ile Soniq in Montreal. Following a slew of releases, including a collabo remix he recently dropped with fellow-Montrealer J.u.D, he's definitely been giving all his time and effort to perfect his full-length album release, which is due at the end of summer.
This is just the beginning of the whole entire project. There are many more artists and acts that are jumping on the roster as we speak, but we'll leave those for the near future. All of these releases are produced by Ghost, who's the head honcho behind the entire project alongside Sebastian Navarro. The only exceptions are Jaymie Silk and Lust, who compose and produce their music themselves. For more details on the artists, you can check our website www.ghostclubrecords.com
