Singer/Songwriter Sam Smith Teams Up With Jimmy Napes, Nile Rodgers & Disclosure
Singer/songwriter Sam Smith recently teamed up with an all-star lineup consisting of Jimmy Napes (collaborator on both Naughty Boy's "La La La" and Disclosure's "Latch"), Chic co-founder and guitar player Nile Rodgers (extensively featured on the last Daft Punk album) & prolific house-flavoured pop duo of the year Disclosure just to tease us with a short 2 minutes gem.
The song is a fresh groove topped with proper blue-eyed soul accentuations and a subtle Steely Dan aftertaste. We can only hope this team effort will generate more music soon. See for yourself. Stream below!
I am currently writing this with a tear rolling down my cheek because I want to sleep, and I'm in dire NEED of a nuclear shower to rinse off my mind, body and soul from this past weekend. Oh, and can someone fedex over some heat rash cream? I personally have not missed one Osheaga festival to this day. It's been 10 years since the festival began, which means I was 16 when the first one started - Everyone experiences it in their own way, whether it is to party with friends, discover...

In case you aren't familiar with Matthew Chaim, we wrote about his debut single "Now I Do" right here. We've had our eyes and ears on this Canadian talent for quite some time now. His tunes are an amalgam of catchy r&b style hooks layered on very catchy production (usually done by Noah Barer). If you're into Drake, PartyNextDoor, or even indie Toronto artist Allan Rayman, you will definitely dig his beats. Today, Matthew Chaim drops a new track, which is a rework of a Mr. Carmack...

One9 and Erik Parker talk hip-hop, inspiration and community. We all have that record that shaped us, understood us and reflected the world we came from. That album we played a billion times and then some; that cut through the mist of façade and into the guts of what was really going on. The record that inspired us. You know what album was that ally for you, right? For New York-based filmmakers One9 and Erik Parker, Nas's 1994 debut Illmatic was all that and more. Growing up in different parts...

A show about awfulness of marriage, horrible date experiences and the cringing truth about building a family, what more could we ask for. This year’s all-star lineup got us even more excited to laugh at other people’s misery. Jim Breuer hosted the show, alongside comedians such as Brent Morin, from the show Undateable, Orny Adams, and Much Music star Debra DiGiovanni. Jim Breuer started off with a bang. He’s not afraid to make fun of himself and have a good time doing so. Breuer spent the...

If you're searching for something thrilling to have your eyes glued to, this… probably isn't it. Picking up where the ingenious and new take on zombie flick ANTISOCIAL left off, the sequel is just another one of those that didn't need to happen. There is no thrill, no excitement, and a lot of sighs as we ask ourselves for sequences throughout to simply move on. What exactly happened? What went wrong? Sam, played by the wonderful Michelle Mylett, was pregnant at the time of infection, and...

So many celebrities get the opportunity to design their own clothing lines. I'm sure these celebrities can't actually design clothing, I think the design team does most of the work and the celebrities just give their input. It's the perfect wear for clothing brands to get publicity and to promote their products. Many celebrities have stylists, so we never are actually aware when the celebrities are choosing their own clothing. When celebrities design their own...

A few days ago, a new petition against rapper Action Bronson has sprung up on the internet, but this time, it's to attempt to ban him from performing at Montreal's Osheaga Festival. The reason? Action Bronson brags about rape, violence against women and even femicide in his song Consensual Rape and his music video Brunch. This new trend has been directly influenced by the successful petition that was put together to get him off the roster for the NXNE public show that he was scheduled...
