Singer/Songwriter Sam Smith Teams Up With Jimmy Napes, Nile Rodgers & Disclosure

Singer/songwriter Sam Smith recently teamed up with an all-star lineup consisting of Jimmy Napes (collaborator on both Naughty Boy's "La La La" and Disclosure's "Latch"), Chic co-founder and guitar player Nile Rodgers (extensively featured on the last Daft Punk album) & prolific house-flavoured pop duo of the year Disclosure just to tease us with a short 2 minutes gem.

The song is a fresh groove topped with proper blue-eyed soul accentuations and a subtle Steely Dan aftertaste. We can only hope this team effort will generate more music soon. See for yourself. Stream below!

Rudsak would be the highlight of World Mastercard Fashion Week day 4, closing the day with the typical high-quality Canadian winter wear they've been putting out for years. It was less about the accessories this season and more about layering, which they did with greens, tans and browns. All photos courtesy of WMCFW.  Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? Check out the rest of the highlights from the show below, and follow our coverage of Toronto's fashion week on our Twitter and...

Atelier Wonder stole the show yesterday, opening day 3 of Toronto's fashion week with a Blade Runner-inspired line that had everyone pointing and gasping uncontrollably. Let's be real, Fashion Week is not without it's let downs. When you sit down at a show and all that's sent down the runway is black, boring shapes seen years before, it's really hard not to be bummed. The new collection, entitled Replicant, brought in the colour and textures that we were all waiting for.  We wore Atelier...

Elektrisk Gønner sparked our curiosity. We're talking about a sassy french-danish band now based in Brooklyn, NY and currently recording their second album in NYC. They released a first EP and album, featuring the danish artist MØ, and toured the world with hectic shows all over the place.    Their single “Uknowhatiwant” music video generated over 1 million views online, and was featured on the TV series Lost Girl (SciFi) and Girls (HBO). Check out the NSFW music...

Another precious hope of eating delicious burritos has been stolen away from Montrealers.  After a Craigslist post surfaced in the Montreal section of the popular classified, stating that the popular Mexican Grill restaurant CHIPOTLE was looking to hire new staffers for the various locations [in Montreal], new broke out like surefire on everyone's timelines.  Should we mention that the post was mostly written in CAPS lock? lol.  The way the post was written seemed too good to...

Italdred is a London based independent label putting out their 5th official compilation. This 40+ track release includes a number of experimental (footwork, grime) sounds amongst others.  This compilation marks a brand new start for us as a label, it shows exactly what sounds we are trying to push going forward in the future. From just a hip-hop label, we feel that now is the time to expand on our music variety. Stream and cop the compilation, which is officially out today, right...

K.I.D stands for Kids In Despair. This garage-pop duo consists of Kara and Bobby. All we know is that they have worked together at a convenience store as a waitress and clerk, and somehow, found themselves through music for a good reason. These two hail from the suburbs of Toronto, and they make gritty music filled with coming-of-age angst style lyrics that are down-right relatable. You won't want to skip through any of their songs, you might even replay some over and over again, just because...

Friday March 20th at Sala Rossa did not disappoint me one bit. I was very excited to head to the venue for what would be the first edition of Montreal’s Funk Soul Festival, and holy shit was it a turnt up affair. Opening the night was funk, jazz, hip hop and groove fusion band The Liquor Store and they definitely knew how to set the mood for the rest of the evening. The 6 piece band was an energetic and eclectic mix of sounds, and even had guest performers come up on a few of their songs. Up...

Hip-Hop and R&B duo Heart Streets  are kicking off spring with a feel good track. “Under My Skin” is the second release from Heart Streets this year. The girls will be releasing and performing the track for the first time at the unveiling of the program of the 17th Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival and the 8Th TD- Blue Met Children’s Festival on March 23rd.
