This one will poke at your heart strings.

We don't always land on solid music coming from the west coast, more specifically Edmonton. Today is a new day, because we discovered Cecil Frena, and can't get enough.

This indie pop artist has got everything you long for: he plays guitar, piano, synth and writes/arranges and produces everything else. Which is why we are completely anticipating his debut album The Gridlock coming out February 9th off his very own label.

if your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough

We have 3 teasers from the upcoming release, including tracks titled "All of My Heroes" "Unknow Yourself" "Good Grades" and "Hyphen" which you can listen to below. The entire album was put together accompanied by a stellar 24-page art book, featuring narrative illustrations of the lyrics done by Tallulah Fontaine

The sound he's going for is a mix of dream-like sequences, sprinkled on top of nostalgic drums, which makes up this pure indie pop goodness. His vocal range is enchanting, to say the least, transporting us into a realm of an unknown era stuck in a timeless capsule that will reach old-comers as much as new-comers.

Stream the few of the tracks below while scrolling through a couple of the illustrations after the jump:
